OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES
AMI was founded to foster a love of learning and to educate children to be caring, socially responsible citizens of their community and world. The educational and supplemental care programs at AMI involve children from eighteen months through 3.5 years of age in two different programs: KG junior and KG senior. AMI seeks to educate the whole child, applying the Montessori philosophy, in a safe and friendly environment. The philosophy is based on the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) whose holistic vision of education focuses on the cognitive, social, emotional and physical needs of the child. As for us, AMI education is preparation for life.
We believe that quality curriculum is flexible and dynamic with the ability to respond and adapt quickly and appropriately to the changing needs of individuals children.
We believe that childhood education must be progressive. It should provide a keen insight into the Montessori method within the context of contemporary psychology and educational and social wisdom. Blending the Montessori approach with contemporary enrichment has proven to be effective, rewarding and beneficial to today’s child.
We build our curriculum based on human and cultural richness of every individual child’s dream. We believe in the principles of promoting acceptance and inclusivity, embracing diversity and challenges, and inspiring human progress toward peace and harmony.
AMI seeks to educate the whole child, applying the Montessori philosophy, in a family- oriented and safe environment Everything in a AMI classroom has a specific use or purpose. There is nothing in the prepared environment that the child cannot see or touch. All of the furniture and equipment is scaled down to the child’s size and within easy reach. Safety and Security of the child is given prime importance. A quality AMI classroom has a busy, productive atmosphere where joy and respect abound. Within such an enriched environment, freedom, responsibility, and intellectual development spontaneously flourish. All classrooms are air- conditioned and meet the highest level of hygiene. In an AMI classroom, every method and every piece of equipment takes advantage of a child’s inherent desire to learn. Children are free to work in groups or on their own. They may sit at a table or move about the room. Equal importance is given to Outdoor and physical activities. Here, the curriculum and teachers’ role are all carefully designed to honor self – paced growth while encouraging social cooperation.
Every parent wants the best school for their child, but no single school is right for everyone. Instead, the best school is the one that the best understands and supports your own child’s unique individuality. The only way to know if a school is really the one for your child is to see it in operation: feel its spirit; see how its mission is expressed in the classrooms; observe the quality of the interactions among children and between them and the teachers. At AMI, we welcome you to visit, experience our community first hand, and let us know what we can do for your child.
